Program Support Intern

Pay/Hours: Unpaid; 10 – 20 hours a week; 8 weeks

Supervised by: Director and/or Program Manager and Coordinator

Position Summary:  Supports community programming; assists with logistics for community meetings and events; performs various administrative and secretarial duties for the Director, Community Coordinator and Youth Coordinator.

Education: Pursuing a High School Diploma

Experience: Preference will be give to those who have campus involvement experience

Skills/Abilities: Bilingual in English/Spanish very helpful; highly organized; ability to interact with the public of all ages in a friendly and congenial manner; strong interpersonal skills with community; familiarity with community organizing in rural, low-income, at-risk communities.

Job Description: Assist with the planning and participate in community and/or youth organizing campaigns, community and/or youth  projects and other quality-of-life workshops in rural areas/schools. Coordinate logistics for community/youth meetings and events and provide support throughout the meeting/event. Attends outreach events on behalf of the agency. Other related duties as assigned.  Must be able to pass a background check.

Administrative Support Intern

Supervised by: Director or Administrative Assistant

Position Summary:  Supports general clerical tasking and financial reporting; assists with logistics for office supplies, needs for community meetings and events; performs various administrative and secretarial duties for the Director and/or Administrative Assistant.

License Requirements: Valid Class D driver’s license required. Must be insurable.

Education:Preference will be given to those pursuing an Associates, Bachelor’s or Master’s in Social Work, Government, Criminal Justice, Communication Studies, Women’s Studies, Ethnic Studies, Family & Consumer Science or Public Health.

Experience: Preference will be given to those who have non-profit, youth development, campus organizing, or grassroots initiatives experience.

Assist with the logistics for community/youth meetings and events.  Assist with the organization and maintenance of office and program supplies, equipment, and promotional items. Attends outreach events on behalf of the agency. Other related duties as assigned.  Must be able to pass a background check.
